Pod Filter Maintenance & Care

Clean your pod filter every 25,000-50,000 km for street use, or after every race event for motorsport applications. Use approved filter cleaning solution—spray liberally, allow to soak for 10 minutes, rinse from inside out with low-pressure water, and allow to air dry completely. Once dry, apply filter oil evenly to the outside of the filter element, allowing it to wick through the cotton gauze. Avoid over-oiling which can contaminate MAF sensors on EFI engines.

Pod filters FAQ

Will these pod filters fit my vehicle?

Our pod filters are designed with a universal high-flow design to suit a wide variety of cars and custom builds. To ensure the right fit, check your vehicle's intake diameter and compare it with the filter's specified inlet size. If you’re unsure about compatibility, just contact our team at SS Racetech Rods & Customs—send us your vehicle make, model, and year, and we’ll help you choose the perfect pod filter for your setup.

How do I install a Proflow pod filter, and what tools will I need?

Installing our pod filters is quick and straightforward—most customers can do it themselves in under 30 minutes. You'll just need basic hand tools like a screwdriver or socket set. Simply remove your old air filter, slide the pod filter onto the intake tube, and tighten the supplied clamp for a secure fit. No major modifications are needed thanks to the universal design. Detailed installation tips are included with each product, and you can always reach out to our support for extra guidance.

What kind of performance improvements can I expect with a high-performance pod filter?

Upgrading to a Proflow pod filter provides your engine with increased airflow, which can lead to improved throttle response and potential horsepower gains—especially on tuned or modified vehicles. The high-flow, low-restriction design helps your engine 'breathe' better, which is why pod filters are popular among car enthusiasts and racers seeking reliable performance upgrades. Results can vary based on your specific setup, but most users report noticeable improvements in engine response and sound.

Are these pod filters reusable, and how do I maintain them?

Yes! All Proflow pod filters are made with washable and reusable filter media, so you don't have to replace them regularly like paper filters. To clean them, simply remove the filter, rinse out the debris with low-pressure water, and let it dry completely before reinstalling. For best performance, we recommend cleaning your filter every 10,000–15,000 km or sooner if you drive in dusty conditions. This easy maintenance helps ensure optimal airflow and long-lasting durability.
