Complete guide for installing 200 Series push-on barbed hose ends.
Before You Install - Checklist
Parts Verification
- Correct hose end angle (straight, 45°, 90°, 120°, 150°, 180°)
- Correct AN size matches your hose
- Speedflow 200 Series compatible hose
- Steel or aluminium (choose based on application)
Tools Required
- Sharp hose cutter
- Deburring tool (CRITICAL for 200 Series)
- Proper AN wrenches
- Brake cleaner
- Vice or hose assembly tool
Installation Steps
Step 1: Prepare the Hose
- Cut hose to length with sharp cutter
- Ensure cut is perfectly square
- Deburring is CRITICAL - remove all burrs
- Clean with brake cleaner and dry completely
Step 2: Install the Fitting
- Lubricate hose end lightly (recommended)
- Push fitting into hose with firm twisting motion
- Push until fully seated against shoulder
- Use vice for larger sizes (-8AN and up)
Step 3: Verify Installation
- Hose fully seated (no gap visible)
- Braiding not bunched or distorted
- Hose covers barbed section completely
Torque Specifications
Connection to Adapter:
- -3AN: 60-80 in-lbs
- -4AN: 80-100 in-lbs
- -6AN: 100-120 in-lbs
- -8AN: 120-150 in-lbs
- -10AN: 150-180 in-lbs
- -12AN: 180-220 in-lbs

- ⚠️ Deburring is CRITICAL
