90° vs Straight — When to Choose the Angle

A straight AN to NPT adapter works well when the hose approaches the port perpendicularly. However, when the hose runs along the component surface before connecting, a straight adapter forces a sharp bend immediately after the fitting — stressing the hose end and restricting flow. The SF383-03’s 90° angle eliminates this problem, allowing the -3 AN line to exit parallel to the component face for a clean, low-stress routing path. AN to NPT — Installation Note

NPT fittings use a tapered thread that seals via thread interference. Always apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the NPT male threads during installation. Do not overtighten — NPT threads can crack cast components if over-torqued.
